We are a team of young, innovative and performance driven individuals with the vision to make the impossible possible. MG Consulting Engineers was established in August 2016 by Nhlanhla Ngobeni, a structural engineer with an appreciation for science and technology. Entrusted with building the legacy of our founder’s grandparents – Matesso Mashaba & Galecia Ngobeni, we aim to help develop a sustainable and smart future for the community we are serving.

Whether you prefer a traditional or integrated project delivery method, we are capable of providing of professional engineering and project management services to ensure that a successful project is delivered to the end user. With our dedication towards improvement of business processes, our vision is to leverage on the strength of information technology to continuously improve on project performance.

How We Work

Depending on the level of complexity and scale of the project requiring our professional services, we typically follow a standard industry phased approach for implementation of the project. The phased approach comprises of the following 6 distinct project stages:

  • Inception
  • Concept and Viability (Preliminary Design Stage)
  • Design Development (Detailed Design)
  • Documentation and Procurement
  • Construction Stage (Contract and Administration)
  • Project Close-Out

Our Founder

Nhlanhla Ngobeni

Managing Director

Nhlanhla is founder and managing director of Matesso Galecia (MG consulting Engineers). He is currently responsible for providing strategic guidance and direction to the team to ensure that the Company achieves its vision, mission and long term goals. Nhlanhla is equipped with over 10 years working experience in the field of structural engineering and project management. His industry experience includes contract and project management, structural analysis and design, and construction supervision of commercial and residential buildings, municipal services, and mining infrastructure.

Always striving for continuous self-development, Nhlanhla holds CAPM attained from the PMI, a master’s in engineering management degree, and is currently enrolled for a Masters in Structural Engineering. With his focus on digital transformation and automation of engineering processes, his most recent academic achievement was the publication of his paper titled “A parametric design process model for box culverts” in the Journal of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE). His strong desire for continuous development has led him to train himself in various BIM software packages to compliment his existing basic knowledge of computer programming language in Boland Dephi 7 and Dynamo visual programming.
