Nhlanhla Ngobeni

Managing Director

Nhlanhla is founder and managing director of Matesso Galecia (MG consulting Engineers). He is currently responsible for providing strategic guidance and direction to the team to ensure that the Company achieves its vision, mission and long term goals. Nhlanhla is equipped with over 10 years working experience in the field of structural engineering and project management. His industry experience includes contract and project management, structural analysis and design, and construction supervision of commercial and residential buildings, municipal services, and mining infrastructure.

Always striving for continuous self-development, Nhlanhla holds CAPM attained from the PMI, a master’s in engineering management degree, and is currently enrolled for a Masters in Structural Engineering. With his focus on digital transformation and automation of engineering processes, his most recent academic achievement was the publication of his paper titled “A parametric design process model for box culverts” in the Journal of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE). His strong desire for continuous development has led him to train himself in various BIM software packages to compliment his existing basic knowledge of computer programming language in Boland Dephi 7 and Dynamo visual programming.

Gabriel Chiadzwa

Senior Civil Engineer

Gabriel is a goal-oriented Civil Technologist and team player who strongly believes in knowledge transfer and skills development. His experience covers solving the client’s engineering problems using civil engineering software (Auto CAD Civil 3D, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, HEC-RAS, TechnoCad, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project), design and construction guidelines, experience and Knowledge. Gabriel is a registered as a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Eng. Tech) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) – a member of the Washington Accord. I am also registered as a member of the South African Institute of Engineers (MSAICE).

Songezo Msobo

Candidate Civil Engineer

Songezo is a developing Junior structural engineer at Matesso Galecia and is in possession of a Batchelor of Sciences (BSc) in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. In the three years since obtaining his degree, he has worked for Franki Africa where he gained invaluable experience as a Junior geotechnical engineer. Since joining Matesso Galecia started in February 2022, he worked as an Engineer Representative where he gained site experience in the construction of valve chamber roof slabs and installation of security features to stop unauthorised access into the Transnet Pipeline’s infrastructure and reduce product theft. He gained a lot of site experience working as an Engineer Representative before eventually moving into the office to gain experience in Finite Element Analysis and design in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, 3D modelling in Autodesk Revit, and project scheduling in Microsoft Project.

Boitumelo Mohajane

Candidate Civil Engineer

Boitumelo was seconded from the Department of Public Works and holds a Batchelor in Engineering (BEng) Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Pretoria. She is currently registered as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Her tenure at Matesso Galecia has developed her structural engineering design skills by working in various design projects that ranged from simple foundation design to complex foundation design to accommodate dolomitic conditions. She has also gained the valuable experience in performing conditional assessments and enhanced her ability to work independently in project designs. Her current experience also includes management of construction site activities; reporting on project progress; preparing of Bill of quantities and payment certificates; Finite Element Analysis and design in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis; 3D modelling in Autodesk Revit; and project scheduling in Microsoft Project.

Vanessa Phiri

Tender Administrator

Vanessa is that of tender administrator which necessitate searching for new tenders and projects as well as compiling them for the company. She monitor’s the company’s tender submission process by ensuring the completeness of documents and compliance with the potential customer’s requirements. She also monitors the validity of all commercial documents and ensures that quality standards are adhered to while keeping to the specified tender submission deadlines. Vanessa has sufficient experience in the tender administration role within the consulting engineering industry and is currently pursuing her studies to acquire a Batchelor in Commerce (BComm) for Human Resources management with the University of South Africa.
